Help Lead the Next Chapter of Camp 1:27
For 15 summers, Camp 1:27 has provided children and teenagers connected to foster care with a safe, joyful, Christ-centered camp experience.
Our goal has always been simple:
Introduce campers to the hope of Jesus Christ and give them one of the best weeks of their lives.
During the summer of 2026, Raleigh’s Place welcomed 69 campers over the course of two weeks. Campers participated in outdoor activities, recreation, chapel services, cabin devotions, worship, and meaningful relationships with counselors and staff.
As we prepare for the next summer of ministry, Raleigh’s Place is seeking a dedicated Camp Coordinator to help lead Camp 1:27 into its next chapter.
About the Position
The Camp Coordinator will oversee the planning, preparation, and execution of Camp 1:27.
This position requires someone who can see both the big picture and the small details. Camp involves much more than the weeks campers are on our property. Months of preparation are required to recruit staff, communicate with caregivers, organize registrations, coordinate activities, prepare facilities, manage supplies, develop schedules, and ensure that every aspect of camp is safe and well organized.
The Camp Coordinator will work closely with Raleigh’s Place leadership, summer staff, volunteers, churches, caregivers, and community partners.
Primary Responsibilities
The Camp Coordinator will be responsible for areas including:
- Planning and coordinating the annual Camp 1:27 program
- Recruiting, interviewing, and helping select summer staff
- Organizing staff training and orientation
- Communicating with campers’ caregivers, social workers, and partner organizations
- Managing camper registration and required documentation
- Developing daily camp schedules and activity plans
- Coordinating meals, supplies, transportation, and facilities
- Supervising summer staff and volunteers
- Maintaining appropriate safety procedures and camp policies
- Helping create a welcoming, structured, and Gospel-centered environment
- Responding calmly and effectively to unexpected needs or emergencies
- Evaluating each summer and recommending improvements for the future
The Person We Are Seeking
The ideal candidate will be:
- A committed Christian who supports the mission and beliefs of Raleigh’s Place
- Spiritually mature and actively involved in a local church
- Passionate about serving children and teenagers impacted by foster care
- Organized, dependable, and attentive to detail
- Able to lead staff and volunteers with clarity and encouragement
- Comfortable communicating with families, churches, and community partners
- Flexible and able to solve problems in a fast-moving environment
- Capable of balancing administrative responsibilities with relational ministry
- Willing to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours during the camp season
Experience in camp ministry, children’s ministry, youth ministry, education, nonprofit leadership, event coordination, or staff supervision is strongly preferred.
More Than a Summer Job
Camp 1:27 is not simply a collection of activities.
Every meal, schedule, chapel service, staff meeting, and recreation period helps create an environment where campers can feel safe, build relationships, experience joy, and hear the Gospel.
Many of the children we serve have experienced instability, disappointment, loss, or trauma. The Camp Coordinator plays an important role in helping Raleigh’s Place create a place where each camper receives a consistent message:
