This email contains news, updates, and upcoming events happening at Raleigh’s Place. Earlier this week we sent out two emails: one detailed how Raleigh’s Place came to be and where the name came from, and the other email shared some statistical data about foster care in our country and state. We want these emails to be informative, as well as, encouraging you to do your part in Living the Gospel by Loving the Fatherless.

Those previous posts can be found here & here.

The end of the year is upon us! With Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the New Year rapidly approaching, this season can be stressful as we gather with families, travel, and try to find items to buy for our families for Christmas. For foster children, this can be a depressing time as they celebrate the holidays without their families and struggle to adjust to another family’s way of celebrating the holidays. There are some ways to support foster children this holiday season to help bring some joy and happiness. Contact your local DHR to see how you can help!

Although this time may be stressful for many, it is also statistically the most generous time of the year. Families, businesses, and churches often do an “angel tree” where they pick a foster child and buy their Christmas gifts (which we highly encourage you to do!). There is also a great increase in year end giving so everyone get get their tax deductions! We hope you can do both!

We kicked off our end of the year campaign earlier this week. We have a goal set and would love to have your support as we seek to hit that goal. If your church, family, or business would like to have one of our staff members visit and share about what the Lord is doing at Raleigh’s Place please reply to this email. If you would like to contribute financially, you can do so in a few different ways:
1. Give online by clicking the button below;

2022 Camp dates have been set and we are actively hiring summer staff. We are looking for high school and college aged students to serve as junior counselors and counselors next summer. Each position has unique roles and responsibilities but both have an incredible opportunity to minister to the Fatherless. Camp 1:27 has been a blessing for so many children over the years so help us continue to do that by sharing the word and helping us fill our summer staff.

We would be more than happy to share about this opportunity to your church, youth groups, college ministries, or even young adult groups. Contact us to set this up.

Upcoming Event

Our friends at Lifeline are hosting The NOMORE Orphans Experience as a FREE virtual event on November 14.

This event is unique- with local bands, personal stories, experts in the field, an artist, and a spoken word poet, NOMORE looks to give people a window from which they can see, hear, experience and understand both the heart of God and the heart of the orphan. “Our goal is to put as many faces to the need as possible, and to provide as many opportunities as possible for people to connect to what is needed and respond to that need with action. We want every person who comes to the event, whether they are in college, retired, or any stage of life in between, to see how they can personally make a difference in the life of a child,” says Tami Kent, Co-Founder of NOMORE. For that reason, The NOMORE Foundation has partnered with local and international organizations, so that people can make a personal connection and get signed up to serve where their heart compels them. Over the past 10 years, The NOMORE Foundation has worked with churches and organizations all over the country to bring this event to communities just like yours, and they are excited to see people engage in this important cause.

This virtual event sounds like a lot of fun as well as encouraging to everyone with a heart for the Fatherless.

As we move towards the end of the year, giving tends to be at its highest. There are many unique ways to give to Raleigh’s Place during this time but we wanted to highlight two: GivingTuesday & Cyber Monday. Please mark your calendars for these two dates; we will provide more info on supporting Raleigh’s Place during these days in a later email.
