Katie’s Kloset was inspired by tragedy. One of our board members, Steve Bottoms, shares the origin story of Katie’s Kloset in this video:
This theme of death bringing life is being used by God to do incredible things at Raleigh’s Place. Since Katie’s Kloset was established, it has quickly grown to be more than a clothes closet. When we began collecting donations, we were quickly overwhelmed by the generosity of those who gave. We began getting calls to pick up couches, appliances, toys, and more. We quickly realized that Katie’s Kloset could be more so we began searching for property to open a thrift store.
The Lord was gracious and blessed us with a fantastic property at the end of 2019. We reopened as a thrift store in May 2020. We continue to meet the needs of foster children and families while also offering affordable shopping for the community. Proceeds made from sales go directly to support our other programs and services.
By giving to Raleigh’s Place during #GivingTuesday your gift goes to directly support foster children and families as we provide free resources for them. Give today by clicking on the button below.
