Raleigh’s Place is now hiring a Resident Director for our Transitional Living Apartments. As the Resident Director, you will play a vital role in providing support and assistance to residents within our Transitional Living Apartments. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the well-being, safety, and comfort of residents while fostering a positive living environment. This position requires empathy, excellent communication and conflict resolution skills, and the ability to handle various tasks efficiently.
Resident Director Responsibilities:
Resident Support: Provide emotional support, guidance, and assistance to residents in daily activities, including but not limited to meal preparation, transportation, and personal hygiene routines.
Safety and Security: Monitor the residential premises to ensure a safe and secure environment for all residents. Implement and enforce safety protocols and emergency procedures as needed.
Conflict Resolution: Address conflicts or issues that may arise among residents, utilizing effective communication and conflict resolution techniques to promote a harmonious living environment.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of resident activities, incidents, and any pertinent information. Complete administrative tasks such as resident program plans, incident reports, and work schedules.
Community Engagement: Organize and facilitate social activities, outings, and events to promote community engagement and foster positive relationships among residents. Encourage participation in recreational and therapeutic programs.
Collaboration: Collaborate with other staff members, including healthcare professionals, social workers, and maintenance personnel, to ensure the holistic well-being of residents and address any emerging needs or concerns.
Housekeeping: Assist with light housekeeping duties such as cleaning common areas, organizing living spaces, and ensuring a tidy environment conducive to resident comfort.
Compliance: Adhere to all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures governing residential care facilities. Stay informed about best practices in resident care and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Strong Christian faith and a commitment to sharing Christian values with young men.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in social work, ministry, or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in a similar role, such as caregiving, residential support, or community services, is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations and make sound judgments.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Clear background check.
